Give us a brief overview of what your gaming life was like before B&S. What games did you play?
I mainly played First Person Shooters such as Counter Strike 1.6 and Overwatch.

How long have you been playing Blade & Soul?
I played Blade & Soul for almost 5 years.

How did you first discover Blade & Soul? What initially caught your interest?
I was watching a Chinese Dong Man called “Kings Avatar” and wanted to play a Chinese WuXia themed game, a quick google search led me to the game Blade & Soul.

Are/were you in a clan? If so, which clan?
I was clan leader and raid leader for Strawberry Pancakes

Have you always been the same class? If not, why did you change?
I used to main Gunner but moved to Summoner as my raid group needed a stealth

What do you like most about your current class?
Summoner was very forgiving in its play style and allowed me to revive and heal my team-mates.

After getting familiar with the game, what kept you coming back?
The Raids were definitely the highlight, I still vividly remember each clear from Black Tower, Vortex Temple, Twilight Temple, and Temple of Eternity. (I never fully cleared Iron Ark, but was able to clear the first boss).

What makes Blade & Soul stand out compared to other games you’ve played?
To me, it was the combat that made this game truly shine, every class has its own unique play style and use case. I’ve played Gunner, Summoner and Blade Master. Each class felt like I was playing a different game, as I had to perform different mechanics, learn new rotations and positioning for each boss fight.

Tell us some of your favorite memories from B&S.
My most fond memories are the first time clear for any raid, nothing beats that feeling of accomplishment after months of trial and error and fine tuning with my raid group.

What was your biggest “I finally did it” moment?
When I tanked Raven King for the first time as a Blade Master.

What’s the hardest you’ve laughed while playing?
Too many good memories of my clan chilling in Discord voice calls while doing our ‘purple trains’ (dailies).

But I laughed the hardest in this video: [Behind The Scenes] What did I do wrong Master!?

Have you ever stayed up way too late because of B&S?
I did the opposite, I woke up early to do my raids every week! Raid then go to work.

What’s your favorite B&S meme, joke, or community inside-joke?
Everything is Marky’s fault. And if the raid wipes, blame kero.

What makes your character special or unique?
My Summoner’s look was definitely unique, I think most people just respected that it was ‘my’ look and didn’t copy it even though it was pretty easy to obtain.

What impact do you think your character has had on your server or community?
Most people liked me because I shared guides especially when new dungeons and raids were released. (They were not always the most accurate) but they pointed you in the right direction!

🏆 Pride & Accomplishments🏆

What achievement are you proudest of your time in B&S?
When I tanked Raven King as a Blade Master despite being a Summoner Main and we somehow managed to clear! Those moving Pizza’s sure were something!

Is there something in-game that feels like your “signature move”?
My cat Marky was sort of a raid meme after they killed the entire raid group several times in Black Tower First Boss (Via double buffing). After that, if we were wiped in raids, we’d always blame Marky.

Did B&S introduce you to friends or people who are still in your life today?
For Sure! Through Blade and Soul, I was able to meet Eckogen and EvilDoUsHarm! Both are great friends and we all still do YouTube!

Is there anything you’d like to say to the Blade & Soul community?
Even though I’ve left Blade & Soul for more than 5 years, I do hope for those who are still playing that you are all having fun! At the end of the day, we play video games to have fun. It is very easy to get swept up in the negativity, especially with social media nowadays, just remember the only thing that REALLY matters is “are YOU having fun”.
